Alyson McKay, RP (Qualifying)

Hi! My name is Alyson McKay. Beyond being a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), I am also a mother, partner, daughter, sister, and friend. As a therapist who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges, I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings. I believe in the transformative power of therapy and am honoured to walk alongside my clients on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.

I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology through Wilfrid Laurier University, and I am currently completing my Master of Arts in counselling psychology through Yorkville University. I work with clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, life transitions, grief, and trauma. I use a client-centred, trauma-informed approach with various evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and more. The most important treatment modality will be the one that best suits your needs, and by offering a wide range of approaches, I can ensure that your treatment aligns with your therapeutic goals.

I believe in the power of individuality and diversity and welcome individuals and couples from all walks of life. I am an LGBTQIA2S+ ally and a sex-positive therapist. By fostering a non-judgmental and inclusive environment, I strive to create a therapeutic partnership built on trust, respect, and collaboration.

I offer in-person and virtual sessions at an affordable price, and if you're ready to embark on a journey of self-exploration and healing, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation. Together, we can work towards creating a life filled with meaning, connection, and fulfillment.
