Dr. Mehrdad Pojhan, PhD

Dr. Mehrdad Pojhan is a registered psychologist in clinical and counseling psychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). He has 30 years of experience in academic, clinical and rehabilitation fields. He has extensive experience working with the victims and survivors of motor vehicle accidents and work-related injuries as well as trauma-related psychological problems, chronic pain, depression, anxiety and complex traumas. Dr. Pojhan has worked in different work settings including academic and educational environments, forensic settings, and clinical and hospital-based clinical settings. He has extensive experience in psychological assessments and offers swift and accurate assessments for the victims of motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and work-related injuries (WSIB referrals). He completed many independent psychological evaluations (IME) and also completed many specialized assessments for the victims of motor vehicle accidents and work-related injuries and impairments.

Dr. Pojhan’s years of experience working with clients from different cultural backgrounds enables him to be highly mindful of the relevance of cultural differences, and how they may affect the process of psychological assessment and treatment. He applies ideas and strategies from different treatment modalities that are tailored to clients’ treatment needs including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) among others.

During years, Dr. Pojhan has published books and articles in academic and applied areas of psychology including physiological psychology, Foundations of Neuropsychology, Research and Statistics, Introduction to Psychology, and Anxiety ad Stress Management. He speaks English and Persian (Farsi) languages. He is also an artist, and painting is his main hobby. He loves dogs and cares about animals.
